Review: Lucid Dream #14

I first happened across one when looking for props when I was producing porn and I thought it would look neat. Little did I know that this would become one of my favorite go-to vibes of all time. I even made a point to replace it when my dog decided it was a chew toy, a very sad day. (No, seriously, I came home one day to find my beloved twitching to death is a puddle of drool.)
The #14 is a multi-speed vibrator, controlled with a dial found on the bottom of the toy. The transitions in speed are very smooth, and while there aren’t any programmed settings, it is easy to adjust and find a speed you like. It is waterproof, which makes cleaning it easier, and is powered by 2 AA batteries. I get a decent amount of life from one set, though the power does begin to wane after a while, once the batteries begin to lose their juice. Packaging is fairly minimal, it come in a clear plastic box with fanciful purple print, and a clear plastic insert. The toy is made of PVC (care info) and is labeled phthalate free. However, when you first open the package there is a very strong smell of plastic. I am automatically wary of toys that are obviously off-gassing, the smell will dissipate over time, but I would recommend using a condom over this toy. It is 8.5 inches in total length, 7 of which are insertable and measures just over an inch in diameter at the widest point. The head has a pronounced g-spot tip which contains the motor, the neck is just barely flexible. The material is smooth and the seam is not really noticeable unless you look for it. It comes in both a purple and an orange/yellow shade, both colors are translucent.
As far as ease of use, I’m pleased with the #14. The dial is easy to turn, accessible during use and tends to stay where you leave it. While there is no instant “off” button, it can be shut down with fair speed. Given fresh batteries it has plenty of power, I find it to be the perfect deep buzzy sensation. You can, of course, find more subtle sensations along the dial, but I tend to crank it up. While it is intended for g-spot stimulation, and will do that job well, I am not one for internal vibrations, they do nothing for me. What earned this toy a permanent place in my toy box is actually it’s abilities as a clitoral stimulator. I like deep vibrations and pressure just below my clit, I’m too sensitive to put anything directly on it most of the time. The g-spot head on the #14 gives me perfect pressure and vibrations, exactly where I need them. The size makes it pretty easy to hold in place, even during sex. My other favorite use is during anal sex, I like to use the vibrator to stimulate my clit and labia, as well as to insert and get a double penetration experience. When I do this, my partner can also feel the vibrations as they transfer well internally. It is definitely my favorite toy to use that way.
The only major problem that I have found is noise. I remember my first one being very quiet, and the second one started that way. Now, it is fairly quiet when I first turn it on, but gets substantially buzzier the longer I use it. I’m not sure why this is. However, it still isn’t all that loud. You can hear it in the same room, but not very well through a door. Personally I get a little nervous about being heard if there isn’t a whole lot of noise in the house, but I’m overly paranoid sometimes.
Overall, this is a very affordable toy that will last you a long time. Keep it away from your dog! You can pick one up here, you won’t be sorry!
